CEO and Principle Officer of the KwaZulu-Natal Joint Municipal Pension/Provident Funds

Biography

Bongi Mkhize is the CEO and Principal Officer for the KwaZulu-Natal Joint Municipal Pension/Provident Funds (NJMPF). Mkhize also serves as the Chairperson for BATSETA, the Investment Working Committee for the Asset Owners Forum of South Africa and as a Board Member for the Municipal Organisation Committee.

He holds postgraduate qualifications in Finance, Banking and Investment Management from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration with MANCOSA.

His career journey started at one of South Africa’s leading banks before completing his South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) articles with the office of the Auditor General. There, he gained extensive experience in compliance, statutory reporting, and auditing for provincial and national departments, municipalities, and public entities.

With over 15 years of experience in the pension fund industry, Mkhize has risen through the ranks at NJMPF, starting as Finance Manager before progressing to Chief Financial Officer, Deputy CEO and now CEO and Principal Officer.
